A serendipitous photo
This evening as I was waiting for a taxi, a horsecart came trotting by. I got my camera out just in time. The flash was turned off, but the result is better than if the flash had worked.
Esta noche cuando yo buscaba taxi, pasó una carretilla al trote. Saqué la cámara justo a tiempo. Estaba apagado el flash, pero la foto salió mejor que con el flash.

it looks like a time travel photo...!

It felt like it! I was in the heart of a modern city of over 7,000,000 inhabitants! There were lots of horse carts back in the 1960s when I was a kid, but they're rare now except for tourism. This was a working cart, hauling some kind of load.
That is amazing!!!
Cool!
Looks amazing.
That is a great shot Tim!
That's one of the new genetically-modified super horses. They hit 300mph on the highways.
My eyes are pretty confused.
Awesome shot! It does look like time travel, LOL
surprise results are so much fun
Action! And you can still tell it's a horse! Great colors!
Very colorful too. Neat!
I love the colors. Luck counts!
I love it! It kind of plays on the illusion of the horse keeping up with the speed of modern life. I would hang this on my wall.
Great picture. My son could take a picture like that, make it as big as you want and mount it on a board covered with awning material (he makes awnings and signs.) He's done that with some for us and his family. Maybe you or someone near you could do that. That would be cool.
Good shot!
very cool!
I love these shots~ warm color and movement. I've been playing with light and no flash a bit. It can tricky.
@distractedbyzombies - you made me laugh.
Cool! Horse carts are awesome. In India there were all kinds of strange contraptions on the road. It made driving down the street extremely interesting.
Wow! Very cool
. peace always
(jumps on the carriage and takes a seat) Let's fly!
That is VERY cool! Like history flashing by! Hope you have a great weekend!

heh
I agree with you . The photo is spectacular .
With the modern cameras the falsh often is not necessary !
In friendship

That is an amazing shot.
Great shot. Where I am going next week, I am going to see lots of them around. I grew up with horse buggies. Called them Victorias and Fetons (?sp)
Sometimes those little annoyances in life turn out good after all. I like it!

Thank you all. I was delighted with the way the shot came out, and that I got to see a working horse cart. I've seen several sights these days that I wasn't able to capture because of weather and being in a car, so this one was special.

Phaetons used to be common 110 years ago. I'm glad they're still in use. There's something therapeutic about seeing animals that provide transportation; they keep your feet on the ground. You get a sense of the energy involved that you don't get with the smoothness of car travel.

I'll have to look into posterizing this shot. I was delighted with the way it came out.

He was moving at a good clip. Probably eager to get home.
