Tequendamita falls
I know, it sounds like a swear word in English, but it's a lovely falls in the mountains above Medellín. My friends Elías and Vicky took me to see it last Tuesday. This is the rainiest weather in 100 years, and you can see it in the violence of the waterfall. Vicky was afraid to get out of the car. The falls is named after Tequendama, a much larger falls near Bogotá.

WOW!That is amazing! I've always loved waterfalls...but I can see how the force of this one made your friend leery! It really is beautiful! Is that like a picnic area of table and chairs so close by?

Yes, they have a picnic area right there, and a few yards to the right is the restaurant. It's usually a lot more sedate. I wish I had filmed it for another minute or so.
That is a beautifil site, and a beautiful sight. Water is such a powerful force yet brings a renewal to the the soul.
sadly couldn,t get the vıdeo to play. weather worldwıde ıs just sımply crazy. we have sprıng blooms happenıng here -3months too early and ın the other home ıt was -37c two weeks ago whıch ıs unheard of. last year we got out of machu pıcchu two days before the raıl lıne was eaten by the swollen currents- and made ıt ınto cusco to catch our flıght to lıma just hours before the rıver swollowed the brıdge we had just traveled over. wıll check back later to see ıf the vıdeo wıll run
just incredible video ... indeed such power ... absolute power!!!
WOW! That is powerful!
That is what they call a roaring river. Beautiful.
@Jaynebug - I'm glad you enjoyed it. The sound of water is very therapeutic.
@bumblefish - I find it amusing that the weather people keep using "El Niño" and "La Niña" to explain things. I don't think they have a clue what's going on, really. But things are different, for sure.
@windupherskirt - Normally it's much more sedate, and people sometimes climb partway up the rocks of the falls (although there's a sign by the pool at the bottom threatening a $25 fine for swimming). Amazing that it all comes out in that little channel.
Gazuntite...they move awfully fast...esta aqua mueve muy rapido
@HereLiesNelsontheGreat - increíblemente rápido. Gazuntite sounds like a kind of rock.
Oh, that is lovely.

@C_L_O_G - @ata_grandma - I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wish I could be there now.
@anvilsandedelweiss - I wish I could be there now, sipping Colombian coffee or hot chocolate.

I'm glad you can see it. I can't see my own videos tonight, for some reason. The internet is weird.
@bumblefish -
Well, that's not true. I can see some but not all of the videos.
