Cool stuff from Xangans
A couple of years ago, I copy-edited this book for @sandraerickson. She sent me a copy and also a set of nested bowls she had made. Unfortunately I haven’t uploaded a photo of the bowls yet.

Jeff @doahsdeer sent me this book when I made a donation to his favorite hospital. I also have A Minor Case of Murder in the Kindle version, purchased through Amazon.
I bought this amazing photo from @plantinthewindow‘s photography site.
This copy of @plantinthewindow‘s latest book of poetry came a couple of weeks ago. The cover art is by @oceanstarr. I took this photo with insufficient light so it’s out of focus. I also have John’s first book but can’t find the photo I uploaded.
One of my very favorite wedding presents was this recent painting by @oceanstarr, to which a number of you contributed. Thank you!
I bought this blissfully peaceful painting a couple of years ago from @oceanstarr.
Got a jar of delicious relish from @seedsower a couple of years ago. Sorry, no photo uploaded.
Oh, yeah, a weird cartoon from @aloysius_son. Haven’t uploaded that either.
I also have a cute little tape measure that @heart-beep sent a few birthdays ago. No photo, sorry.
What have you got?

wow, what a lot of neat stuff, Tim. you are greatly admired among your friends.
I ought to show some of my xanga stuff, too. mainly, paintings my Starr.
Love the paintings! I have gotten so many things over they years, I did a series called the Gifts of the Xangans, I have a few things to add, I love the coffee and Guava paste I got from you and Alicia!
Neat stuff Tim! Let’s see, I won a jar of raspberry jam from @saintvi. Have bought numerous fridge magnets from @oceanstarr. And I’ve bought a book of poetry from @ZSA_MD. Which I’m suprised you don’t have her latest. @wildwomanofthewest, passed along/mailed her Elf on the Shelf doll to me last Christmas. John, aka al_son, also sent me one of his paintings when he was cleaning out his closet. I love doing acts of kindness for other Xanagans. I think I need to add you and the Mrs to my list…
Neat-o! I have a couple things from @Marica0701.
Beautiful =)
This is a great blog to read. It shows how Xangans are more than just online friends, they are interconnected with gifts, and purchases, as well as occassional letters, cards and phonecalls, even if people never met face to face. It’s wonderful.
I have received plantinthewindow ‘s books, and I received a bath and body gift-set from a Secret Santa. I received a few cards too.
Kool stuff! Maybe I’ll post pictures of things I’ve gotten from Xangans later. Great idea!
What talented friends and wow a great post to boot
Great stuff!
I’ve gotten a lot of stuff from xanga. A computer, MP3 player, several books, some CD’s, a few paintings and drawings, and many hours of talking and friendship. Of course, that was from when I was much more involved than I am these days.
Great collection.
I have Cadmium from Sandra, a lovely decorated postcard from Bels_kaylar, two of JG’s own paintings and books as well as an extra book or two he sent along. Oh, and one of Zakiah’s books. I think she has more than one.
Some jewelry from @theCatWritergirl . So nice!
That’s all I have from my xanga friends, though. :/ Haha Wish I had more!!
@SaintVi sent me some stuff she made (table runner and potholder) and @Nevragn sent me a piece of jewelry with my initial on it that she made from her beach glass, as well as contributing a frame to my sister’s cancer benefit. She also made me a really cool picture using her quilling talent.
I’ve never met SaintVi but have met Nevragn a couple times when I drove through her town
A collection to be proud of.
I have a horror of accumulating things. I know they can’t last.
@SaintVi sent me some jam two summers ago..it was divine!
Xangans are a creative bunch.
There is a lot of valuable stuff out there. I value pictures and artwork in a different way than a collector, people should index their xanga entries and bring them out at appropriate times.
There are some xangians that post Youtube videos that are appropriate. Some xangans give good advice and there are some who offer financial support for some special cases.
Thanks for posting an inventory type of xanga blog.
I got baking and jams and jellies from Saint Vi. I got cards from Seedsower (50 of them, hand made for my 50th birthday).
I got jelly and baking from promisesunshine and baking from ampersands anonymous.
There are some very kind people out there.
Where’s mine?
That is amazing! I love this post!
I’ve got a set of prep bowls from Tamy, a metal rose from Macy, a planter from Beth, books from Zakiah and John, a sketch from Aloysius-John, and a card from Gary. I’ve also got a quesadilla maker from Tamy, but that came from one of her give-aways.
i have some absolutely gorgeous jewelry from @lkjslain
I have recieved some wonderful things from Tany and from John but the most precious gift that I value the most is the friendships that I have been blessed with her on Xanga. The prayers, love, hugs, caring and encouragment I have been blessed with here on Xanga is preiceless.
@chronic_masticator - there are some amazing talented people on xanga
Oh hells bells!! I forgot I got a fabulous carved walking stick from Zakiah, and a beautiful carved elephant too.
I can’t believe I forgot those….I wanna slit my own throat!
Be interested to see if any of the people I bought webcams for speak up….just saying, there are a few.
It’s nice – and I believe uncommon – that you’ve actually made you xanga contacts a real part of your world. You have an ability to actually be HUMAN in here that I don’t often see.
I got nuthin!
That is so cool! I am impressed! I have a painting for you and Alicia but it is not framed and it is large. Will bring it to Florida in my suitcase over spring break!
That’s awesome!!! Very nice.
This community here is very supportive and giving.
@flapper_femme_fatale - She does make lovely stuff, as do several other people here.
I’m trying to figure out what the photo is of
@tiffany_chua - If you’re talking about the framed photo, it’s light shining through a hole in the roof into an abandoned house.
Love Love Love….and…Love is all I need
You deserve each one of them and more. I got a most beautiful set of Jade necklace, ring and earrings recently. I am going to upload that tonight and post it.
There is a lot of good stuff on xanga. Thanks for reminding this great people.
@Six_Days_Divided_by_Blondville - There are actually a fair number of people here who have established real friendships. I came to Xanga because of my kids, but it wasn’t until three years ago that I found this corner of it with writers, artists, and just plain great people.
@Bricker59 - hey, I noticed in my local grocery store that Canadian beers are cheaper than most American beers here! They’re priced about the same as Michelob. What’s up with that?
Memories, I have memories, 10 years of them, captured in the written word, distilled from my thoughts into my pages.
I think you are surrounded by a load of talented and beautiful peoples!
Oh my, the gifts seem endless. The peoples are good to me. The last one I received was a vintage turquoise car from Marsha, mlbnscga. She totally made my day knowing she comitted grand theft auto just for me. She is always good for a hearty and healthy belly laugh. She is beautiful people.
@crankycaregiver - Hey! I am getting ready to pack for our move and will pick out something special for you, if you trust this mangy varmint with your mailing address.
@WildWomanOfTheWest - I have a turquoise pitcher I’ve been saving for you for ages. I know you’re getting rid of stuff, but it looks exactly like something you should own.
@Roadkill_Spatula - hahaha, I am not getting rid of my pitchers! Turquoise pitchers are always welcome.
With this new house, we really don’t have a lot to get rid of, mostly just stuff from the guest house.
@chronic_masticator - I can see my turquoise necklace as I sit here on my bed, it lays on my bedside table. I will be packing it away soon for the move. And I am taking my sign on the bunkhouse door with me!
They may get the bunk beds, but they are not getting my sign!
@ElusiveWords - It is. I enjoy it more than Facebook where my “real” friends are.
@plantinthewindow - I’d love to see your collection. Post it sometime.
@WildWomanOfTheWest – ha, I’d forgotten about that sign! I’mma send you a housewarming gift when you get settled into the new place.
I’ve received many cards and small gifts from Xangans over the years.
One of the coolest gifts I received was a pair of handy toolboxes from a Xangan I haven’t seen around in years. I don’t even remember his screen name now, but that was special – paint grade plywood, hand made and very nicely done.
@plantinthewindow sent me one of his images on canvas – a barn photo that I especially love and I, of course, have copies of both books. I’m still slowly reading the new one – savoring it. It’s one of my most treasured possessions.
These items are very dear to you, I’m sure.
